Moving from PC to Mac
For years I have been a PC guy, but now I have given in... I purchased an iMac. It should come in a few days. Yes, I'll install XP on it but it will only be for .Net web development. The only thing to decide is whether I want to use Parallels or VM Fusion.
I made the transition to Google Apps and GMail
I converted my growtechinc.com emails over to Google Apps / Gmail. I absolutely LOVE it! Gmail is awesome, with so many cool features, like the ability to "tag" emails with MULTIPLE labels! Think of it as the ability to put 1 email in several folders for easy retrieval later on. Plus it's FREE!
I also created an "archive" email account and am using the "Google Email Uploader" to upload everything I had in Outlook to this new email account. That way it's accessible, but "out of the way."
To transition your domain to your apps email simply change the MX records in your DNS to point to googles server. If you want to use a subdomain, such as mail.growtechinc.com, you have to make an A record change in the DNS as well. It's nicely documented on the Google site.
I'm absolutely loving Google right now!

Dreamweaver CS4 Dataset Wizard
Here is a video showing how you can make a data driven website calendar using Dreamweaver CS4 and the Spry Dataset Wizard...
- New Spry Dataset Wizard - uses an XML or HTML file for the data source - cool
- This feature is mostly for small, lightweight data taken from a static source. If you need more complexity then use a database.
Share My Screen Feature for CS4
Share My Screen is a service that comes with Acrobat.com. All of the services are FREE. All you need is an Adobe ID.
To do it: File/Share My Screen
